Overview

Challenge

All Alberta teachers are expected to meet the Teaching Quality Standard. In 2019, Alberta Education developed supervision and evaluation frameworks and processes. The formal process of gathering and recording information over time was being captured in Word or Google apps. The division was seeking an all encompassing solution that would support teachers, principals, and superintendents in providing supervision and evaluations at the appropriate time period with the appropriate level of privacy and confidentiality. Principals had some existing workflows with regards to documenting this information outside of the Human Resources platform, that they wanted to maintain.

Solution

The end result was a comprehensive Teacher Supervision, Evaluation and Growth Plan all in one. Using a likert scale with descriptions aligned to each of the six competencies, principals could efficiently complete evaluations and supervision according to specific criteria and timelines. The clevr solution provides a private space for principals to document specific information about a staff member that will help future administrators understand the context of that staff member. Files and attachments with no extension restrictions allows principals to maintain existing workflows. Superintendents are notified at key times when components are completed.
